1971 - 1971 Ford Maverick Pro Stock
Dyno was back at M&S Welding late in 1970 to have a second Maverick built. This one would take a little longer than the first to build, spending close to a month under construction. Unlike the first “showroom” Maverick, this one started out as a body in white. The Maverick brought an end to the Sox & Martin domination of NHRA Pro Stock when Don won the Summernationals. Additional wins came at the Super Stock Nationals, and two AHRA Grand American races. The quickly evolving world of early 1970s Pro Stock had made the Maverick obsolete and by the end of 1972. By that point hired gun Ken Dondero was driving the Maverick and recording 9.40 times.
